The BL Circle

The terms of membership.

These terms govern membership of the BL Circle. Fees are not stated here—they are set out in each member's Acceptance Letter, which keeps these terms stable and the terms of admission private.

The Circle and admission

The BL Circle is a private membership operated by Billionaire Luxuria Limited. It is not a public offer; nothing on the house’s website, in its journal, or in its communications constitutes an offer capable of acceptance.

Admission is by application and is granted at the sole discretion of the house. The house is not obliged to admit any applicant, nor to give reasons for declining an application. An applicant must be at least eighteen years of age and apply personally.

Membership takes effect when the Acceptance Letter is issued, the joining fee and first annual subscription are paid, and the member is entered in the register.

A membership held personally

Membership is personal to the member and may not be transferred, assigned, lent, or shared, save for the guest privileges expressly attaching to a tier. A member is responsible for the conduct of that member’s guests.

The first hundred members admitted across the published tiers form the Founding Circle, and hold the fee terms in force at the date of their admission for so long as their membership continues without lapse.

Tiers and privileges

The privileges attaching to each tier are those the house sets out for members and varies from time to time on notice. Privileges are subject to availability, prior booking, and these terms.

The house’s venues remain open to clients of the house generally. What the Circle holds is priority of booking and the house’s terms—not exclusive use. No privilege is redeemable for cash, and unused privileges in a membership year do not carry forward unless the house agrees in writing.

House credit

On activation and on each renewal, a Circle Member’s annual subscription is credited in full to the member as house credit. It is redeemable against the house’s quoted terms for goods and services at the time of purchase or commission.

House credit may not be applied to membership fees, joining fees, or partner-service charges passed through at cost. It has no cash value, is not transferable, and is not refundable. Unused house credit expires at the end of the membership year in which it was credited, or earlier upon lapse, resignation, or termination.

Conduct and discretion

Members observe the standards of the house at its venues, at its events, and in dealings with the house’s staff and other members. The house may refuse service, decline a booking, or ask a person to leave where conduct is unlawful, abusive, disruptive, or otherwise inconsistent with those standards.

The affairs of the Circle, the contents of the register, and the identity of other members are private to the house and are not to be disclosed by a member without the house’s written consent. A member shall not describe the membership publicly in a manner suggesting agency, endorsement, employment, or partnership with the house.

The register and privacy

The house maintains a private register recording each member’s name, tier, founding number where applicable, status, house-credit balance, renewal dates, and usage of privileges.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 for the purposes of administering membership and the house’s communications. It is never sold, and is shared only to the minimum extent necessary to deliver partner services, or as required by law. A member may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data, subject to the house’s legal retention obligations.

Partner services

Partner services—including airport protocol at the Lagos and Abuja airports and hotel partnership benefits—are supplied by third-party providers under their own terms and arranged by the house for the member.

The house exercises reasonable care in selecting providers but is not liable for their acts or omissions beyond that duty. Airport protocol comprises lawful meet-and-assist services only; the house does not provide or arrange any facilitation that is improper or unlawful, and members comply with all applicable laws and official instructions.

Suspension, withdrawal, and resignation

The house may suspend or withdraw a membership where a member is in breach of these terms, where conduct is injurious to the house or its members, where payment is not made when due, or where continued membership would, in the house’s reasonable opinion, harm the Circle. Save in cases of non-payment or unlawful conduct, withdrawal follows written notice and an opportunity to respond.

On withdrawal or termination, privileges cease, unused house credit is forfeited, and the membership card is returned. A member may resign by written notice, effective at the end of the current membership year.

Variation, property, and governing law

The house may amend these terms on notice to members; no amendment reduces the protection of the Founding Circle fee freeze. If an amendment is materially adverse to a member, that member may resign before it takes effect and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused annual subscription.

The membership card, welcome materials, and all marks of the house—including the BL seal and THE BL CIRCLE—remain the property of the house; membership confers no right to use them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties first attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith; failing resolution, the dispute is referred to arbitration seated in Lagos under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, before a sole arbitrator, in English.
